Step 1 of 3: Preparation

Kit list

• Tin Can

• Elastic band or hairband

• Books or small boxes

• Any required uniform or outfit

Instructions

• Please ensure you’re in a private space

  • Such as at home or personal office, not a coffee shop or open-plan office.

  • This is because you’ll be asked to pose which would feel strange for you if you’re in public, and off-putting for your colleagues if you are in an open-plan office.

  • If you normally work in an open-plan office, you will need to arrange to book a meeting room (if it has natural light) or work from home.

• Make sure you have good natural light.

  • Find a location in your home or office where there is good natural light from a window - a north-facing window is ideal. You’ll need to face the direction of the window.

  • Don’t worry about what’s behind you as we will digitally remove the background in the final image.

• Bring a can of beans/soup and a couple of elastic or hair bands!  (This is not optional!)

  • This will be our makeshift ‘tripod’ that you’ll secure your phone to.  Sounds odd we know, but it’s simpler and easier than a tripod for these sessions. I will explain how to do this in your session.

  • The reason is that it’s sturdy, easy and small enough to move around, and holds the camera completely vertically. A mug or other bottle etc. will not be sturdy enough.

  • Leaning your phone against something is not an option as the camera will not be vertical.

  • Having some shoeboxes or books to be able to vary the height of the can is also helpful.

• Wear any clothing required as instructed by your company

  • For example, some managers may require formal attire such as long sleeves blouse/shirt and jacket.

  • Or they may have specific branded clothing they have provided for you.

  • Any queries on this should be directed to your manager.

  • Failure to wear any required clothing will result in an automatic rebooking.

  • If you have no specific instructions, please wear something you feel would represent your company appropriately.

• Make sure your phone’s 100% charged and is connected to good wifi or at least 4G.

  • This is for obvious reasons as we don’t want to lose connection with you.

• Open the app just before the time of your appointment

  • Your photographer will contact you through the app.

  • If there are any problems connecting with you we’ll call you on your mobile.

  • The session usually takes up to 20-30mins.

• Your phone will upload the photos to us.

  • Please allow an additional 30mins after the shoot for this.

  • You can carry on working, but you’ll need to leave the app open in the background.

• We’ll process the photos and send your images to your company
